The Trembling Giant, or Pando is considered one of the oldest and largest living organisms in the world. Pando is estimated to be tens of thousands of years old while the oldest known living trees in the world are close to 5,000 years old. It weighs an estimated 5.9 million kilograms (13 million pounds) and covers 43 hectares (106 acres) of ground in Utah's Fishlake National Forest. The national forest in south-central Utah in the United States located about 200 miles south of Salt Lake City, is home to this unique organism - a forest of around 47,000 aspen trees that share an estimated 80,000-year-old root system.
