Turkey won 11 medals in the World Down Syndrome Championships in Madeira, Portugal.
Turkish athletes won three gold, three silver, and five bronze medals.
The championship was held on Oct. 2-7 with competitions in athletics, table tennis, and basketball.
Turkish medalists are as follows:
Ali Topaloğlu: 100-meter (gold), shot put (gold), discus throw (silver) and 400-m (silver)
Dilara Çevik: Discus throw (gold), shot put (bronze), 400-m (bronze), 100-m (bronze)
Merve Uzun: Long jump (bronze)
Women's doubles: Merve Peker-Benay Balcı (silver)
Men's doubles: Erman CÇetiner-Enes Yılmaz (silver)
