French team Paris Saint-Germain topple Chelsea, Real Madrid cruise past Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night
The first leg matches of UEFA Champions League Quarter Final stage completed on Wednesday night with the remaining two matches with Paris Saint-Germain versus Chelsea, and Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund.
In France, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated England's Chelsea 3-1 on Wednesday, giving the Parisian giants an advantage for the second leg in London.
PSG's Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi scored the opening goal of the match in the 4th minute of play. Chelsea replied back with their Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard scoring from a penalty kick in 27th minute. In the second half, Paris Saint-Germain took the lead again after Chelsea's Brazilian centre-back David Luiz's own goal, 2-1. In injury time Argentine PSG's attacking midfielder, Javier Pastore dribbled past several opponents at the edge of the box and found the net. The match ended with a French triumph, 3-1.
Meanwhile in Madrid, Real Madrid cruised past Germany's Borussia Dortmund 3-0 at home.
Real Madrid were off to a flyer with their Welsh star Gareth Bale finding the net in the 3rd minute. In the 27th minute Spanish giants' 21-year-old attacking midfielder Isco doubled the score. Home team's Portuguese powerhouse Cristiano Ronaldo got the final say in the showdown by scoring the third goal and the game ended 3-0 in favour of Real Madrid.
