Tearing apart Troyes 9-0 in league match, Paris Saint-Germain won Ligue 1 title with eight matches to spare
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) club won the French top division Ligue 1 title with eight matches to spare as they smashed underdogs Troyes, 9-0, in a league match at the Stade de l'Aube in France Sunday.
PSG star Zlatan Ibrahimovic remained impressive throughout the match as the Swedish striker scored four goals against Troyes. The other Paris Saint-Germain forward, Edinson Cavani, put the ball into the net twice.
Leading the league with 77 points, the Parisian club increased the point gap to 25 against their closest opponents Monaco in the league table.
Paris Saint-Germain have now won the French league title four times in a row and six times in total.
The 9-0 win against Troyes also makes the PSG the biggest win in away matches in league history.
The Qatar Investment Authority bought PSG team in 2012.
