Clocking in at a surface area of 1,453 square meters, the world's largest tulip carpet, made of 564,000 live tulips, is officially on display at the historic Sultanahmet Square. As part of the Istanbul Tulip Festival for the celebrations of the 564th anniversary of Istanbul's Conquest, which has brought a deluge of vibrant colors to Turkey's largest city. Millions of blooming tulips in dozens of varieties are on display at Istanbul's most iconic landmarks, including the world famous Gülhane Park outside the Hagia Sophia museum, the Emirgan Park on the bosphorus, and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge. The festival is spread out across the city, on both the European and Asian sides, and will run until the end of April.
