As tensions with Iran escalate, US intelligence and law enforcement agencies are reassessing known or suspected Hezbollah-linked people within the country, but there are no credible threats at this time, according to media reports.

This precaution comes amid recent warnings from Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, following President Donald Trump's consideration of possible military action against Iran and his public remarks suggesting Israel may target Iran's leadership, CNN reported.

While US officials believe the primary threat lies with American military bases and regional interests, they are acting with caution to guard against potential threats on US soil, law enforcement officials told CNN.

Last year, the Justice Department announced arrests linked to a plot to assassinate Trump.

The US has also accused Iranian-backed hackers of targeting Trump's campaign, suggesting cyberattacks remain a potential tool for retaliation.

The FBI is closely monitoring groups suspected of having ties to Iran, CNN cited a law enforcement official as saying.

Although officials say their main worry is lone-wolf attacks and ongoing threats to current and former US officials, including Trump.
