Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday met Romanian President Nicusor Dan on the sidelines of a NATO summit in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The meeting addressed bilateral ties and regional and global issues, according to Türkiye's Communications Directorate.

Erdogan expressed Ankara's determination to strengthen Türkiye-Romania relations in many fields, including trade and defense industry.

Stressing the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism, Erdogan said they would continue working together for the security of the Black Sea.

During the meeting, the Turkish president was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, Justice and Development (AK) Party Deputy Chair Halit Yerebakan, and his top adviser Akif Cagatay Kilic.
