Terrorists were spotted by drone in Mount Suki region on Iraqi side of border, says Hakkari Governor’s Office
Turkish security forces killed at least four PKK terrorists in northern Iraq on Monday, a statement said.
According to the statement issued by Hakkari Governor’s Office, Turkish Air Forces carried out an operation after the terrorists were spotted by an unmanned aerial vehicle in Mount Suki region on Iraqi side of the border.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
