
The Turkish Armed Forces said it killed six more PKK terrorist in counterterror operations in two southeastern provinces
Six more members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) have been killed in a Turkish military operation in the southeastern Diyarbakır and Şırnak provinces of Turkey, the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) said on Sunday.
In a statement released on its website, the TSK said that three PKK terrorists were “neutralized” in the Sur district of Diyarbakır while other three terrorists were killed in the İdil district of Şırnak.
These figures push the total number PKK terrorists killed in Sur to 260 and in İdil to 69, the TSK said.
Moreover, a large amount of explosives and ammunition were seized during the operation in several cities in the region.
A joint security force of the Turkish Army and police units has been launching counterterror orpations in several southeastern cities for nearly three months.
During the operation, security forces closed hundreds of ditches dug by PKK militants and cleared the barricades on roads while killing over 2,500 PKK members.
