20 staff, residents in neighborhood evacuated
A silo of grain on Thursday caught fire in western France, near an industrial port, local media reported.
The fire started at around 8.00 a.m. (0600GMT) on a silo of the company Sica Atlantique in the city La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast, broadcaster France Bleu reported.
The blaze spread quickly to three other silos, and almost a hundred firefighters were deployed in the area.
The staff – around 20 employees – and neighboring houses were evacuated.
