Ukrainian strikes over past day targeted energy facilities in 6 regions, as well as Russian-controlled part of Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, according to Defense Ministry

Russia claimed on Thursday that Ukraine launched 10 attacks on its energy infrastructure over the past day, as a US-brokered moratorium between Moscow and Kyiv on strikes against each other's energy infrastructure nears its end.

On March 18, the US brokered two agreements between Russia and Ukraine—one to “ensure safe navigation” in the Black Sea and another for a 30-day halt on attacks targeting energy infrastructure—following talks in Saudi Arabia.

Despite the agreements, both sides have frequently accused each other of violating the pause.

In its latest accusation, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Ukraine launched six strikes on Wednesday, noting that its energy facilities in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Tver regions were hit, causing partial power outages.

It accused Kyiv of launching four more attacks overnight, of which one again targeted the Belgorod region, while two others hit energy infrastructure in the country's Ryazan and Tula regions.

The statement also claimed that artillery shelling by Kyiv damaged a substation in the Russian-controlled part of Ukraine's southeastern Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukrainian authorities have not immediately commented on Russia's claims.
