Man claiming to be Apple employee disrupts event as company's software engineer chief speaks
A man claiming to be an Apple employee disrupted the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) Tuesday while software engineer chief Craig Federighi was on stage making opening remarks.
The pro-Palestine activist suddenly walked onto the stage, unzipped his jacket and revealed a keffiyeh, shouting "Shame on you" and "How dare you" as he expressed support for Palestine.
A video of the protest widely shared on social media showed the protestor being escorted by security personnel as Federighi carried on with his speech.
Similar pro-Palestine protests took place previously as part of a larger campaign called No Azure for Apartheid, which is made up of both current and former Microsoft workers who are against contracts that they say facilitate mass surveillance and AI-powered communication monitoring in Gaza.
