One of the five terrorists killed by Turkish security forces in Hakkari is reportedly the murderer of AK Party provincial candidate Ahmet Budak
Turkish security forces killed five Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorists in the southeastern province of Hakkari.
Security sources said the terrorist who only three days ago martyred Ahmet Budak, the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party's candidate in the province, was among the terrorists that were neutralized.
The operation was conducted in the countryside of Hakkari's Şemdinli district, as the Turkish military struck a heavy blow on the terror group in the area, killing hundreds of members in recent weeks.
The toll of PKK terrorists killed in the Çukurca district climbs to 204, as the Turkish military on Friday killed three more terrorists.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU, has been conducting armed conflict in southeastern Turkey for over three decades, killing more than 40,000 civilians.
Turkey's military intensified operations against the terrorist group last summer when the PKK broke the two-year-long cease-fire with Ankara.
Since then, nearly 800 terrorists have been killed, with major cities have been cleaned from terror elements by security forces.
