'Hampered by injuries, the Turkish international guard has unfortunately not been able to express his full potential since arriving,' club says

Turkish basketballer Furkan Korkmaz has officially left AS Monaco Basket, the club said on Thursday.

"AS Monaco Basket and Furkan Korkmaz have decided to part company by mutual agreement," said a club statement on Instagram.

"Hampered by injuries, the Turkish international guard has unfortunately not been able to express his full potential since arriving on the Rock this summer. The entire Roca Team family warmly thanks Furkan Korkmaz for his professionalism, and wishes him nothing but the best for the rest of his career," the statement added.

After a seven-year spell with NBA franchise Philadelphia 76ers, Korkmaz, 27, joined Turkish Airlines EuroLeague competitors Monaco on Aug. 7, 2024.

He could only appear in three EuroLeague games for the French side as he suffered from a tear in his right adductor.
