India and the US carried out a maritime partnership exercise in the Arabian Sea, officials said on Monday.
Indian Navy ships undertook exercises with the US Naval carrier strike group in the Arabian Sea last week, Indian Navy said.
“The ships undertook replenishment at sea, cross deck flying operations, Air Defence exercises including maritime maneuvers demonstrating seamless Indian Navy – US Navy interoperability and enhancing the ability to undertake complex joint maritime ops,” the navy spokesman said.
The maritime drill between Indian and US navies came amid tensions in the Red Sea due to the war in Gaza.
India has deployed its naval assets to rescue or avert any mishap in the region.
