Specialized government teams to begin implementing plan to ensure citizens' safety and meet essential needs, says Gaza media office

The Gaza government announced Saturday that it has completed a comprehensive plan to address the ceasefire agreement between Palestinian factions and Israel, which is set to take effect on Sunday morning.

The plan “aims to gradually restore normalcy in the region and includes urgent field measures, primarily securing affected areas and providing humanitarian aid to residents,” the Gaza media office said in a statement.

The statement explained that specialized government teams from various ministries and institutions will begin implementing the plan on the ground to ensure citizens' safety and meet essential needs.

The Palestinian police will be responsible for maintaining security and order, while municipalities will be handling the cleaning of affected areas, reopening roads, and repairing infrastructure, including water and electricity systems, according to the statement.

The Gaza government emphasized the readiness of its institutions to implement these measures, with specialized field teams from various ministries overseeing the plan's execution to ensure life returns to normal as quickly as possible.

Qatar announced a three-phase ceasefire agreement late Wednesday evening to end more than 15 months of deadly Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, with the ceasefire set to take effect at 8.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Sunday.

Nearly 47,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed and more than 110,700 injured in Israel's genocidal war on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, according to local health authorities.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November 2024 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
