'Cuba condemns in strongest terms bombing perpetrated by Israel against Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza that has caused hundreds of deaths and injuries,' says president

Cuba and Venezuela released statements Tuesday condemning Israel’s attack on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza.

"Cuba condemns in the strongest terms the bombing perpetrated by Israel against Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza that has caused hundreds of deaths and injuries," President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on X.

"We demand an immediate ceasefire and an end to these flagrant violations of International Humanitarian Law," he added.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla also took to social media to condemn the attack, saying: "We condemn in the strongest terms the criminal bombing by Israel of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza, which has caused at least 600 deaths and hundreds of injuries," adding the attack is a violation of international human rights.

Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry also issued a statement on X, describing the attack as a "massacre."

"The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its strongest condemnation of the massacre carried out by the State of Israel when it bombed the Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza, causing the deaths of more than 500 people, including women, children and the elderly," it said.

It also called on "all states and international organizations to work together to demand a ceasefire and immediately put an end to these flagrant attacks on human rights."

More than 500 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital on Tuesday, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra told Anadolu.

Footage on social media showed corpses scattered across the hospital grounds.

According to an Anadolu reporter, thousands of Palestinians were at the hospital when the building came under bombardment.
