The elderly twins, who were born in a 3-minute interval, also met their demise in the same way, in the northwestern province of Kocaeli.
Bizimkocaeli.com, a local media outlet, said that Aziz Eryürek died late Friday at home after a long battle with stomach cancer.
He was known as being terminally ill before he succumbed to his illness.
The twins, had been ironically born in a three-minute interval in 1942 in Derince, a town near the northwestern province, just not far from Istanbul.
Shortly after Aziz passed away, his brother Remzi Eryürek suddenly fell ill and his heart stopped. He was declared dead in three minutes despite a medic’s frantic efforts for revive him.
The deceased were buried on Saturday in their hometown Derince following a funeral service in the town’s mosque.
