Türkiye is making a name for itself in cybersecurity as well. STM’s multi-layered Cyber Fusion Center (SFM) offers a comprehensive and integrated approach to countering cyber threats. As Türkiye's first cyber fusion center, this system has been operational since 2016. It runs 24/7, ensuring continuous protection. The SFM safeguards the cybersecurity of the country's critical institutions.
The Cyber Fusion Center, which provides a comprehensive and integrated system against cyber threats, is divided into three main sections: the Cyber Threat Intelligence Center, the Cyber Operations Center, and the Malware Analysis Laboratory.
At the heart of the SFM lies the Cyber Threat Intelligence Center, which works to identify potential threats before a cyber incident occurs. By sharing the gathered threat information with institutions and clients, the center helps prevent incidents before they happen. It also provides intelligence data to security units, establishing a proactive defense line against cyberattacks.
Another key component of the SFM is the Cyber Operations Center, which operates around the clock to respond to cyber incidents immediately. This center analyzes the source and direction of attacks and sends detailed reports to the Malware Analysis Laboratory. Additionally, the center has the capacity to monitor cyber traffic both in Türkiye and globally, and it integrates with international malware-sharing platforms.
The Malware Analysis Laboratory (Z-Lab), another critical part of the SFM, conducts detailed static and dynamic analyses of malware on both virtual and physical platforms. These analyses, conducted across different operating systems, aid in the effective identification and neutralization of cyber threats.
