The Evidence documents ‘biggest tragedy of century,' envoys tell Anadolu
Ambassadors in Ankara congratulated Anadolu on The Evidence documentary, which exposes Israel's war crimes in Gaza.
Faed Mustafa, Palestinian ambassador to Ankara, told Anadolu that the documentary proves the crimes committed by Israel and opens the way to seek justice for these crimes.
"We need to thank Anadolu Agency, which prepared this documentary and the book The Evidence, for their exceptional efforts,” Mustafa told Anadolu after the gala screening of the documentary.
Amir Muhammed Ramin, Afghan ambassador to Ankara, said The Evidence is documenting “the biggest tragedy of the century.”
“I say this wholeheartedly because this documentary is putting the evidence of the crimes committed by those who apparently advocate human rights and universal values,” Ramin said.
He said Anadolu is a “very strong voice” advocating the rights of the Palestinian people.
Elvis Antonio Alam Lora, the ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Ankara, said his country fully abides by the resolution of the UN.
Stressing that diplomacy is the best way to solve the problems in the region, he said it is quite difficult to make a prediction.
Israel has waged a deadly military offensive on the Gaza Strip since an Oct. 7, 2023 cross-border attack by the Palestinian group Hamas in which nearly 1,200 people were killed.
More than 33,970 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have since been killed in Gaza, and over 76,700 others injured amid mass destruction and shortages of necessities.
The Israeli war has pushed 85% of Gaza's population into internal displacement amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.
Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January ordered Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
