Albayrak Group has extended its 11-year journey in Islamic calligraphy to Rome, the historic heart of art, literature, and aesthetics. Showcasing the elegance and depth of traditional Turkish-Islamic art, the "Albayrak Hüsn-ü Hat Exhibition" opened on April 16, 2025, at the Yunus Emre Institute in Rome, housed in a 16th-century historic gallery.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy led the opening ceremony, joined by Türkiye's Ambassador to Rome Elif Çomoğlu Ülgen, Chargé d'affaires of the Turkish Embassy to the Vatican Neslihan Altay, Director General of Living Heritage and Cultural Activities Selim Terzi, Albayrak Media's Sales and Marketing Director Abdullah Hanönü, Albayrak Group's Corporate Communications Coordinator Esad Sivri, Deputy Managing Editor of Yeni Şafak Foreign Languages Ömer Kablan, and calligrapher İbrahim Şengül. The exhibition, met with great interest, will remain open to visitors until April 19.
"I'm truly delighted to open the doors of the enchanting world of calligraphy to art lovers here in Rome," said Minister Ersoy during his remarks.

Minister Ersoy emphasized the importance of preserving, developing, and promoting traditional arts worldwide. "In today's world, where many are suffering, there is a growing need for the spirit that gave rise to these traditional arts. Our civilization, grounded in tolerance and justice, expresses itself aesthetically through these forms, which also reflect the spirit humanity deeply needs today," he said.
He noted that each piece of calligraphy offers a unique message. "Calligraphy is not merely writing; it's an art form where letters speak, where words take on new meanings. The curves and strokes in each artwork, crafted with great care and patience, invite us to pause and reflect on our existence. In essence, calligraphy tells the story of us," Ersoy added.

Commending Albayrak Group for their dedication to preserving cultural heritage, Minister Ersoy reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to supporting Turkish-Islamic arts. "The Albayrak Hüsn-ü Hat Exhibition, hosted successfully in various Yunus Emre Cultural Centers both in Turkey and abroad, represents a significant collection of this profound and elegant art form. I congratulate everyone involved," he said.

Abdullah Hanönü, General Manager of Marketing at Albayrak Media Group, expressed pride in presenting the collection in Rome's historic Yunus Emre Institute venue. "We are here to help strengthen the cultural and artistic cooperation between these two countries. Each year, Albayrak's calligraphy collection is launched with a unique theme, reaching millions of art enthusiasts around the globe," Hanönü said, thanking Minister Ersoy and all contributors for their support.
Following the speeches, Minister Ersoy personally toured the exhibition, which features 18 calligraphy works, receiving insights on each piece.

The Yunus Emre Institute continues its global mission of promoting Turkish culture and reinforcing cultural ties with friendly nations. This exhibition in Rome not only breathes life into traditional Turkish-Islamic art, but also serves as a cultural bridge between Turkey and Italy.
