4 terrorists were killed in drone strike, 3 in mortar fire
At least seven PKK terrorists were killed in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province and northern Iraq on Saturday, according to the local governor's office.
In a drone strike in Hakkari four PKK terrorists were killed, said a statement released by the Hakkari Governor's Office.
The terrorists were allegedly involved in the martyrdom of Capt. Murat Ucoz and a rocket attack on a military convoy in Cukurca district of Hakkari, the statement added.
Later on Saturday, PKK terrorists in northern Iraq fired mortars at Turkish forces in Cukurca district of Hakkari, according to a second statement from the governor's office.
Turkish forces killed three PKK terrorists in retaliatory fire, the statement added.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of around 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
