Three of the suspects were in Diyarbakır, one was in Şanlıurfa and the other was in Antalya. Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa are located in Turkey's South, close to the border, and Antalya is the gateway to Turkey's southern Mediterranean region.

Two of the suspects had recently traveled to Qandil, Iraq, to meet with other senior members of the terrorist group. Another two of the suspects had recently traveled to Erbil, Iraq.

The suspects were charged on account of organizing and establishing an armed terrorist organization and being a member of an armed terrorist organization.

One of the suspects was a KCK spokesperson, and was previously working for ANHA, the terrorist organizations news agency in Syria.
