Five Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) terrorists, two of whom were suicide bombers, were arrested in an operation carried out by military police in Ceylanpınar, a district of the Şanlıurfa province in southeastern Turkey close to the Syrian border.
The terrorists were trained at PKK and PKK-affiliated Democratic Union Party (PYD) camps in Al Hasakah, Syria, and traveled to Ceylanpınar with the aim of carrying out terror attacks.
The two suicide bombers confessed to where they had been trained, as well as admitting that they planned on carrying out terror attacks targeting official organizations in Ceylanpınar and an attack on the Asian side of Istanbul.
The terrorists planned to obtain ammunition from within Turkey.
The investigation about the terrorists is continuing.
