Two alleged migrant smugglers were also arrested and remanded in custody in western Edirne province
A total of 30 undocumented migrants were held in western Edirne on Friday, according to gendarmerie sources.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said gendarmerie forces stopped a vehicle in the Meric district's Adasarhanli village and detained 13 Syrian and Iraqi nationals.
In another vehicle stopped in the same village, gendarmerie forces detained 17 migrants, who are Syrian, Afghan, Iraqi and Iranian nationals.
Two suspects were arrested related to the incidents and later they were remanded in custody by a court on migrant smuggling charges.
Turkey has been a main route for refugees trying to cross into Europe, especially since the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
