Eleven foreign suspected members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were captured in the southern Turkish city of Kilis as they were trying to cross into Syria illegally, the Turkish military announced on Tuesday.
Turkish General Staff said in a statement on its official website that the suspects were held by border troops Sunday as they were attempting to cross illegally into Syria from Elbeyli town,
Turkey captured more than 2,627 members of ISIL, including 837 foreign nationals, over the past three years, often as they try to enter Syria by crossing the Turkish border.
