Looking for something new to watch after bingeing on Turkey’s historical dramas such as Magnificent: Century and Resurrection: Ertugrul? If you are a fan of modern day romances with a fierce heroine, well we might have just the thing for you!

Known abroad as “Love Is in the Air,” Sen Çal Kapımı, which literally translates to “You Knock on My Door” started airing in early July and instead of being just a “summer fling,” it managed to maintain its high ratings and is now set to continue in the fall too.

In this whirlwind romance we are introduced to Eda Yildiz, a florist whose scholarship, little did she know, was retracted in her final year of university by none-other than our man in waiting Serkan Bolat.

Eda is brought to life by Turkish beauty Hande Erçel, who has been called one of the world’s most beautiful women, with Serkan being played by star Kerem Bursin.

The two meet by chance at Eda’s university where she calls out Serkan, who is a successful architect and ginger dreamboat, for retracting her scholarship to go study in Italy and ruin her life.

Funnily enough, Eda handcuffs Sertan to herself as she keys his car and vandalizes it with her lipstick, throwing the two into the beginning of what is set to become a hilarious yet bittersweet romance.

However, in a cruel twist of fate Eda finds herself engaged to Serkan by episode 2.

Armed with loyal friends and family members, the two must navigate their way around their self-made quagmire.

Entertaining more than 700 million audience from Europe, Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and the U.S. so far, Turkey is expected to earn $1 billion in TV series exports by 2023.

As of 2018, Turkey’s revenue from TV series exports amounted to $500 million.
