Turkey continues to send goods to Qatar, and the second ship will leave as soon as possible, Economy Minister Zeybekçi says
Several issues were addressed during Qatar’s Economy and Trade Minister Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani’s three-day visit to Turkey, Turkish Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi said after his meeting with Bosnia Herzegovina’s Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister Mirko Sarovic.
Stating that Turkey would be of aid no matter which country was in a difficult situation, Zeybekçi said they wanted the focus to be on the sensible regarding the problems between the Gulf states and Qatar. “We want, wish and support that the present atmosphere among brothers be overcome in a brotherly manner,” said Zeybekçi.
Zeybekçi noted that Turkey will organize a fair in Turkey for Qatari companies until the end of this month, to promote many products, including domestic appliances, sanitary ware, packaging materials and textile products, regarding export through land to Qatar. The small-scale and private fair will bring Turkish and Qatari companies together, and may be held in a city in western Anatolia.
Regarding the highway route of export to Qatar, “The trucking rigs we sent by land arrived in 13-14 days, whereas by ship they arrived in 11 days. Technically, we know that the rigs can reach them in six days. Our negotiations with our Iranian allies are ongoing. They need to support us. It is important that our rigs are ensured to arrive in two port cities of Iran, which have connections with Ro-Ro ships. When we are able to export through land, it will be a great relief in terms of speed. Arrival in six days is fast, but the loading of the ship is continuing. The second ship will leave [for Qatar] as soon as possible,” said Zeybekçi.
