The November 1 elections have opened a new era. Certainly the AK Party will be the first to realize this, yet this is not enough for the country. The opposition is in a bad situation. They have not earned the qualifications of an opposition. The AK Party on one side and the people on the other are forcing interest groups to found an opposition party by putting the stones in their places. The November 1 results have brought these groups to the crossroads, and thus have created a golden opportunity for them.
The June 7 results reflected the extraordinary periods. We observed that it began with the Gezi crisis, and that the Parallel Structure waged war on the legitimate government initially behind the scenes, and then explicitly with the 17/25 December incidents. With the confidence of backing by global powers and being deployed in the state for years, they then started an arrogant revolt movement. They controlled the media. They dominated three-quarters of the media, including most of the 400 columnists. They were supported by external newspapers and non-governmental organizations.
The problem was not indicating a simple political differentiation. The objective was to take control of the country as it was in the past 80 years.
Therefore, after every defeat they became even more vulgar and closed the ranks. Finally, they cut off the Kurdish movement from the Reconciliation Process through Demirtaş/Yüksekdağ and the PKK, and soldered it onto the white Turks. The Doğan and Gülen media demonstrated a professional collaboration at this point. Öcalan was passive, stopped being an actor, and stood to watch the winner. In this way, they terminated both the HDP and Öcalan as their point of contact. Their new contacts were the Kurdish people. The state would continue the democratization process.
The critical point here was the attempt to arrogate the “polarization” argument on us. Those that legitimized the PKK and DHKP-C, first produced polarization, displayed all kinds of vulgar behavior, provoked people against the conservative communities, called for war, insulted the State's legitimate President, shamelessly blamed President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Davutoğlu for everything.
The real purpose of this attack was to break the unity between the leadership/the party and the conservative voters. They were aiming to create disorder in the party. They wanted to make the public believe that Erdoğan was a risk and a burden for the country. By burdening the conservatives with this, they hoped to get the inside track.
Now lets put the stones into their places. Prime Minister Davutoğlu's balcony speech and Party spokesman Ömer Çelik 's statements are apparent. AK Party has never been a revenge-seeking party.
The AK Party is opposed to notions of vengeance. There are parties that have been defeated in terms of the votes they have received; yet no citizen is a loser. We are being particularly careful not to offend anyone, because our intentions are good for all.
The PKK and Gülenist Terror Organisation (FETO) sustained defeat and have no other option but to bury their weapons. There is no advantage to gathering strength, attacking and taking refuge in Öcalan. We hope the HDP goes through a mental transformation and disassociates itself from the PKK. To see concrete signs of this will only make us happy.
Normalization is inevitable for these groups. Yet, our desire for this doesn't mean we will forget all the crimes conducted in the last three years. Turkey is a state of law. Staging a coup on constitutional order and the legitimate state, disclosing state secrets, stopping intelligence trucks, wiretapping foreign affairs, and causing deaths are exceptions, and thus not included in normalization. Impunity and lack of punishment are out of the question.
The voters have conferred responsibilities to the AK Party in this sense too.
One of the requirements of normalization is to administer justice. In short, in terms of normalization, accepting the steps of those that are captivated by the breeze coups have caused, are not the same as accounting for the crimes one has committed within this mechanism. These are not alternatives or contrasts to each other.
The voters avoided nationalistic groups and gravitated towards the patriotic AK Party during the November 1 elections. Regrettably, the voters did not perceive the CHP as the center party, and instead directed a 2.1 percent vote to the AK Party. The reason for this is the CHP has become marginalized and has been supporting the Parallel Structure. Some of the CHP deputies saluting the murderers of Attorney General Mehmet Selim Kiraz, stating that they would support Iran if Turkey were to go to war with it, and verbally abusing the President and his family are also reasons for the decrease in voter support. This image has prevented the CHP from becoming a center party.
It would be appropriate for CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu to, pull his party back to the center, and remain distant to the PKK, DHKP-C and especially the Gülen Movement. This is imperative.
Turkey has gained a new momentum, in terms of normalization, by receiving a 50-percent election victory. Turkey now has new conditions, for the benefit of all our citizens. Everyone in this country, no matter what their disposition, lifestyle, race and religion, will live in an environment of prosperity, security and freedom.
