James Cleverly announced £3M ($3.63M) support to Ukraine for rebuilding infrastructure
UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly traveled on Friday to Ukraine to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During his visit, Cleverly announced £3 million ($3.63 million) support to Ukraine for rebuilding infrastructure, the UK foreign service said in a statement.
"The UK is giving Ukraine the support it needs to get through the winter, and to rebuild in the longer term. James Cleverly has travelled to Ukraine to underline the UK’s support following brutal Russian attacks on civilians and infrastructure," the UK foreign service added on Twitter.
For his part, Zelenskyy thanked London for its support, pledging "to never forget it."
"Great Britain stands by Ukraine at this crucial time for us. We will never forget this. I am grateful to Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom James Cleverly for the visit!" Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.
Last week, Kyiv hosted a visit of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who came with a £50-million package of defensive military support.
