With participants from North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Italy, Slovenia, Montenegro, and other countries, the congress saw a significant presence of speakers and attendees

The 26th Balkan Dental Association (BASS) Congress, organized by the Dental Chamber of North Macedonia, received support from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). The congress, held from May 11th to May 13th, 2023, under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Elizabeta Georgievska, the spouse of the President of North Macedonia, attracted dental professionals from the Balkans and numerous countries worldwide.


With participants from North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Italy, Slovenia, Montenegro, and other countries, the congress saw a significant presence of speakers and attendees. Notably, dental experts and academics from renowned dental faculties in Turkey also participated in the event.


Prof. Dr. Elizabeta Georgievska, the spouse of the President of North Macedonia and the Congress Chair, emphasized that the congress brought together not only experts and academics from the Balkans but also from various countries worldwide. She mentioned that the congress featured 62 presentations, 16 workshops, and over 100 oral presentations, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.


Prime Minister Dimitar Kovaçevski highlighted the importance of the congress, which was organized for the third time in North Macedonia, in terms of sharing knowledge and experiences. He expressed his confidence in achieving successful outcomes from the congress and emphasized the positive impact it would have on cultural cooperation among participating nations.


Prof. Dr. Ana Minovska, the President of the Balkan Dental Association (BASS), noted that they had organized a similar congress in Skopje ten years ago. She highlighted the significant advancements made in dental treatment, digital radiology, three-dimensional studies, and artificial intelligence over the past decade. Minovska emphasized the congress's importance in sharing the latest developments and technologies in the field of dentistry.


The 26th BASS Congress in North Macedonia not only provided a platform for dental professionals to exchange knowledge but also fostered international collaboration and showcased the latest advancements in dentistry. Supported by TİKA, the event played a crucial role in promoting dental expertise and strengthening professional networks among participants from different countries.
