Each side brings home 95 captured servicemen

Russia and Ukraine has held another exchange of prisoners of war, each side bringing home 95 of its servicemen, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday.

Zelenskyy said on Telegram "95 of our people are again at home. ... Thanks to the team that is engaged in the search and release of prisoners."

He thanked "all partners" who helped to maintain the negotiation process on the matter.

The Russian Defense Ministry also confirmed the exchange, praising the role of United Arab Emirates in the new exchange.

"On Oct.18 of this year, as a result of a negotiation process, 95 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory controlled by the Kyiv regime. In return, 95 prisoners of war of Ukraine's armed forces were returned," the ministry said in a statement on Friday.

All released Russian military personnel are currently in neighboring Belarus. They will be transferred to Russia and will receive treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions run by the Defense Ministry.

The two countries last exchanged 105 prisoners of war each in September.
