Hezbollah group mourned another fighter killed in clashes with Israeli army, bringing group's death toll since Oct. 8 to 264
The Lebanese Hezbollah group on Tuesday said it targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers close to an Israeli army site near the Lebanese borders.
In a statement, Hezbollah said its fighters attacked a gathering of Israeli soldiers in Al-Malikiyah site with missile weapons, and claimed to achieve a direct hit.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese official news agency NNA reported Israeli overnight airstrikes across southern Lebanon along with artillery shelling on several border areas.
In a separate statement, the Hezbollah group mourned another fighter who was killed in clashes with the Israeli army, bringing the group's death toll since Oct. 8, 2023 to 264.
Tension has flared between Hezbollah and Israel along the shared border since the Oct. 7 cross-border incursion by the Palestinian group Hamas, triggering the war in Gaza.
The current escalation is said to be the deadliest since the 2006 Lebanon War.
