Assad regime must be ousted in Syria, says FM Çavuşoğlu

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Wednesday that the Assad regime must be ousted in Syria.

Speaking to reporters following the chemical attack in Syria, Çavuşoğlu stressed the need to transition toward a “political process.”

“This is not the first time that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons, it killed close to one million people with its bombs.”

At least 78 civilians were killed after forces of the Bashar al-Assad regime struck targets in Eastern Ghouta’s Douma district in an attack in which poison gas appears to have been used, according to the White Helmets civil defense agency.
