Six people were killed late Wednesday when a car bomb exploded near a district police post in Turkey's southeastern Diyarbakir province, local officials have said.
The attack carried out by members of the PKK terrorist organization in Cinar district also injured 39 people, including six police officers, Diyarbakir Governor's Office said in a statement.
It said the terrorists detonated a car laden with explosives and simultaneously launched a gun attack with long-barreled weapons on the district post.
Those injured have been carried to nearby hospitals and a search for the attackers is under way, the statement added.
