Daesh terrorists attempted a terror attack on the Turkish military presence in a camp in northern Iraq, but Turkish forces retaliated with heavy fire, destroying Daesh targets, military sources say
Turkish military forces shelled Daesh in northern Iraq after the terror group attempted an attack on the Bashiqa military camp on Tuesday morning.
Military sources said that a group of Daesh militants attempted an attack on the camp near Mosul, a stronghold of the group in northern Iraq, but Turkish military foiled the plot by opening fire on them.
Turkish armed forces also pounded Daesh targets with heavy shelling and destroyed them, the source said.
In recent months, Turkey increased its military presence in the camp in order to train Peshmerga and local forces to launch a fresh attack to recapture Mosul.
