A two-week-long media training program will be hosted in Istanbul next month with an aim to support experience sharing between Turkey and the South Asian countries in the field of media.

The South Asia Media Training Program (SAMED) will be organized in English by Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities Presidency (YTB) in cooperation with Anadolu Agency.

The training, scheduled to take place from March 15-28, will be given by journalists from Anadolu Agency's experienced staff. It will include courses such as social media and internet journalism, agenda and source in journalism, data journalism, crisis journalism, interview techniques, photography as well as video production and editing.

The program will include a combination of theoretical and practical courses and visits to partner organizations in Turkey for a better understanding of the media landscape.

During the fortnightly program, there will be an opportunity to strengthen cultural interaction with events and city tours, as well as various seminars and courses.

Candidates who wish to participate in the training program from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and diaspora members of these countries can fill in the application form accessible at www.ytb.gov.tr, as well as a short video in which they explain themselves and the reasons for applying to the program. They must send their CVs to asiapacific@ytb.gov.tr before Feb. 13, 2020.
