A formation of opposition groups in northern Syria are advancing to the Jarabulus-Azaz line to protect the area from Daesh terrorists

Syrian opposition launched a heavy attack on Daesh targets in Northern Aleppo as they seized four villages from the terrorist group on Sunday night.

The extensive operation, launched on Saturday night with the participation of nearly 1200 opposition forces, is continuing with the support of heavy artillery fire from Turkey.

The operation was also backed by coalition airstrikes and US and Turkish fighter jets.

Liwa al-Sultan Murad, one of the most important Turkmen brigades in northern Syria, Faylaq Al-Sham (Sham Legion) and the Levant Front or Jabhat al-Sham were among the frontline opposition groups fighting against the Daesh terrorists to seize the area near the Turkish border.

According to sources from the ground, the opposition formation have seized Karaköprü, Haraba, Kara Mezere and Kuzul villages in northern Syria.

At least 60 Daesh terrorists were killed during the operation while two opposition fighters were killed and 8 others injured.

One of the commanders of the opposition group explained their targets to free 24 villages from Daesh near Jarabulus and the last target to secure the Azaz-Jarabulus line.

He said the opposition group also plans to push back the Kurdish armed group PYD, which Turkey considers a terrorist organization, from Afrin and the Tishreen Dam on Euphrates River.

Jarabulus-Azaz line was the red line for Ankara as Turkey is trying to establish a safe zone and declared it as their red line.

Turkey has repeatedly said that it will hit everything that intends to cross this line. To protect the line Turkey's T-155 Fırtına howitzers and tanks open fired while Turkish fighter jets conducted airstrikes in the area.
