PKK terrorists and the Hashde Shaabi Shi'ite militia plan to jointly attack Iraq's Tel Afar, home to Sunni Turkmen, from a command base in Sinjar

Fears of a mass killing are growing in the Turkmen populated Iraqi city of Tal Afar, as the outlawed Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) terrorists and Shi'ite militia group Hashdi Shaabi agreed to launch a joint attack on the city.

Tal Afar, a city in northwestern Iraq around 63 km west of Mosul and 52 km east of Sinjar, has a population of approximately 100,000, nearly all of whom are Sunni Turkmen.

A joint terror command, PKK and Shaabi, had aspired to seize the smaller city by taking advantage of the ongoing concentration on the Mosul operation against Daesh militants.

According to security sources, PKK and Shaabi terror leaders met in a PKK terror camp in Sinjar and made an agreement for a joint assault on the city.

The decision was made in a meeting in which top level members of the Asaeb Ahlul Hak Brigade of the Hashdi Shaabi formation and PKK terror group also attended, the sources said.

Hashdi Shaabi commander Mahdi al Muhendisi and some of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard generals also joined the meeting.

Following the meeting, PKK mobilized its terrorists from the Kirkuk, Qandil and Selahaddin areas to Sinjar and gave them a short term training on moving in coordination with the Shi'ite militia group.

More than 1,000 PKK members are reportedly attacking civilians in Tal Afar under the Shaabi umbrella.

Mazlum Şengal, a PKK terrorist born in Turkey, is commanding the joint operation, while Raferin Engizek, a female member of the terror group, is the so-called commander of female team.

The PKK will take full control of the city after capturing it with the joint offensive, according to a decision made in the meeting.

Mazlum Şengal had reportedly visited Diyarbakır around 2 and a half months ago, where he met pro-PKK political party the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) leader Selahattin Demirtaş and some other HDP executives.

During his Diyarbakır visit, Şengal stayed with a fake ID in the Liv Suit Otel owned by Demirtaş's brother.

Turkey expressed its concern over a probable mass killing in Tal Afar and opposed any Shi'ite / PKK assault on the Turkmen city.

If such a situation happens, the Turkish military could intervene in Tal Afar, according to Turkish authority.

A huge number of Turkish tanks and armored vehicles were deployed to Hakkari's Silopi district near the Iraqi border, around 150 km north of Tal Afar.
