Greek court decides to extradite three of eight coupist soldiers who played a role in the coup bid against Turkey and fled to Greece
A Greek court ruled on the extradition of three Turkish coupist soldiers, linked to the Fetullah Terror Group (FETÖ), who escaped to Greece during the July 15 failed coup attempt that aimed to topple the Turkish government.
On Monday, the lawyer and court officials said that the Greek court ruled not to extradite three other coupist who fled to Greece after an abortive coup attempt.
Turkey said the soldiers, eight in total, were involved in a July 15 coup attempt.
No decision has been arrived at yet for the remaining two.
A Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopter, which was carrying the eight Turkish officers, landed at a site near Alexandropoulos province of Greece just after the foiled coup attempt.
The soldiers, who were embedded into the FETÖ terrorist organization, fled the country over the coup attempt which killed around 250 people.
