Turkish Presidency Spokesman Ibrahim Kalın called on European countries to stand by Turkey in its fight against terrorism instead of giving advice that could create a security gap.
"Turkey taking steps which may cause a security breach is out of the question. The recent attacks have proven that Turkey is right in its fight against terrorism, " said Kalın in his speech at the Presidential Complex in the Turkish capital, Ankara, referring to terrorist attacks carried out in Istanbul and Mardin on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
“All initial indications point to the separatist terrorist organization as responsible for the bomb attack in Istanbul's Vezneciler on Tuesday," Kalın added.
Kalın also touched upon the German Parliament decision which approved a resolution that declares the 1915 incidents a "genocide," describing the move as "irresponsible."
"German can approve resolutions, aiming at halting Neo-Nazi killings or put its efforts to deal a blow to PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) terrorists there instead of pressing against Turkey with a decision based on false information. Germany may improve its relations with Turkey in this way," he said.
Kalın also dismissed the claims that Germany wanted to establish a separate base at Turkey's Incirlik Airbase. “Germany has been using Incirlik against Daesh. But any separate base is out of the question," he said.
“People's Protection Units (YPG) terrorists will not enter Manbij; this move would escalate ethnic tension," Kalın said about the ongoing anti-Daesh operation in Syria, which included the PKK- affiliated group.
Kalın also expressed Turkey's concerns about the regime attacks targeting Aleppo, saying a possible massacre there could trigger hundreds of thousands of people to migrate toward Turkey.
Kalın's words followed the latest regime attacks which hit a marketplace in Aleppo, killing 15 civilians including women and children.
