'If there is no stability and security in Turkey; then all world will be affected. Turkey is a country the entire region sets hopes on,' Binali Yıldırım says

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has said that Turkey is a country that the entire region sets hopes on, adding "if there is no stability and security in Turkey; then all the world will be affected."



Yıldırım's remarks came at the assessment meeting of the first hundred days of the 65th government of Turkey, that was held in the Turkish capital, Ankara.



"Tourism was off to a bad start in the beginning of 2016. However, Turkey and Russia normalized again, which will have a positive impact on tourism," Prime Minister Yıldırım said.



He added that along with Russia, Turkey and Israel sign deal to normalize ties after six years.



"God willing, there will be normalization with Egypt and Syria. Turkey has started a serious attempt to normalize ties with Egypt and Syria," he said.



"If there is no stability and security in Turkey; then all the world will be affected. The coup bid of July 15 was the biggest example of this," he added.



'Terrorist PKK missed opportunity of peace'


Turkish Prime Minister who touched upon the Turkey's counterterrorism fight against the Kurdistan Workers' Party's (PKK) said that the terrorist group squandered the opportunity for a political peace process with Turkey by continuing its terrorist activities against Ankara.



Yıldırım also said that Turkey has been effectively fighting against drug dealing which is the primary financial sources for terrorism.



"During the recent operations in Diyarbakır, Siirt and Şırnak provinces; as much as 40 tons of narcotic drug have been found.



"We also detained 8,561 people over their suspected links with the drug dealing ring. We will be fighting against those who attempt to poison our children," he added.
