Turkey’s cabinet approved the recommendation of the National Security Council to extend the state of emergency for another 3 months
Government spokesman Bekir Bozdağ on Monday stated that Turkey’s cabinet approved the recommendation of the National Security Council which held a meeting earlier the same day, chaired by President Tayyip Erdoğan, to extend a state of emergency after last year's failed coup for another three months.
Fifteen months have passed since the state of emergency was declared on July 20, 2016 following the failed coup attempt.
