Kapuzbasi Waterfall, fed by snow masses and glaciers at the summit of Mt. Aladag and overflowing with a recent heavy snowfall, attracts visitors with its unique views in central Turkey.
Kapuzbasi Waterfall comprises seven waterfalls flowing from the mountain slopes on an area of 500 square meters (around 5,382 square feet), and is located in Aladaglar National Park around 190 kilometers (118 miles) from the city center of the Kayseri province.
As a wonder of nature, the place has become a frequent destination for visitors overwhelmed with cold water, pouring down from a height of about 75 meters (246 feet).
The gorgeous waterfalls spurt right from a solid rock cliff face, and can be seen through the region, which is 2,000 meters (6,561 feet) height from the sea level.
Yahyali town Mayor Esat Ozturk told Anadolu Agency that Kapuzbasi Waterfall is the highest pouring group of waterfalls in Turkey, and with its tourism potential it resembles the Niagara Falls located on the US-Canada border.
Even during the pandemic, thousands of people have visited the waterfalls from different provinces, Ozturk said, stressing that this number will rise further after the anti-virus restrictions are over.
"It's like a photo studio, a tap left open when the earth was created," he said.
