President Erdoğan meets Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim

President Erdoğan met the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, at a working lunch at Mabeyn Mansion in Yıldız Palace, Presidency of Republic announced on its website.

Head of the National Intelligence Organization Hakan Fidan was also present at the working lunch.

The two leaders focused on economic relations, military committees, and increasing cooperation on regional issues, especially the Syrian civil war.

Qatar has been one of the main supporters of the rebellion against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Turkey and Qatar have become close allies in recent years, especially due to the conflict in Syria and the Arab Spring uprisings.
