Erdoğan emphasizes importance of education for society during appointment ceremony of teachers in Ankara by saying, “Being a teacher is not just an ordinary profession, but dedication”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended a ceremony for 30,000 teachers of Turkey during which the lottery held by the Ministry of National Education determines who will start to carry out their duties.

"Being a teacher is not just an ordinary profession, it is dedication. A teacher should share his love and excitement with his students," said Erdoğan, emphasizing the importance of teachers.

"The teacher shouldn't be concerned about being appointed to western provinces of Turkey. They should serve in the best way in every province of Turkey which has big targets to achieve," the Turkish President added.

Erdoğan also retreated his 'three children' emphasis.

"We have to educate our new generation with the basic values of our culture and civilization, including family unity. There are many examples in the world that don't have this kind of education," President added.

"Yesterday, two special operations troops sent me a support message which affected me. These people believe in martyrdom. I believe that all our teachers will shape their perspective as if embroidering, " Erdoğan said.
