The ongoing sweeping operations, backed by the air forces, left nearly two dozens of PKK terrorists dead
Twenty terrorists from outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) were killed and one soldier fell martyr in Çukurca town, Hakkari, according to the governor's office.
In a statement, Hakkari governor Cüneyt Orhan Toprak said that six other soldiers were injured in the fighting, still underway in the rural part of Çukurca.
The injured were taken to the state-run hospital in Hakkari by ambulances.
The armed forces struck two terror targets in the Çukurca countryside, acting on intelligence information which had been received between 9:30 and 9: 48 p.m. late Thursday.
