A Greek court ruled on Tuesday against the extradition of three of eight Turkish soldiers who fled to Greece last July following a failed coup attempt in Turkey.
The soldiers fled Turkey on the night of the coup bid in a Blackhawk helicopter and landed in Greece seeking political asylum. The soldiers that fled are members of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), which is the group behind the coup plot.
Greece's top court blocked the extradition of all eight in January, angering Turkey which then issued a second extradition request.
The soldiers were involved in efforts to overthrow President Tayyip Erdoğan, and Turkey has demanded they be sent back.
