At least two Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) terrorists were killed when Turkish war planes targeted a terrorist group, who attempted to infiltrate the Turkish territory, the military's headquarters said.
The latest in a string of air strikes in the rural Çukurca town in Hakkari province were conducted between 4:10 and 4:15 a.m. early Thursday.
Initial findings showed that at least two have been killed, while the rest have escaped taking away their comrades, who sustained injuries.
The military statement also said that armored military vehicles simultaneously opened fire on the terrorist group, who attempted to cross into Turkey, apart from the air strikes.
In a separate incident, another group of 6 to 7 PKK terrorists have been targeted in the Çukurca countryside.
Turkey, the EU and the U.S. regard the PKK as a terrorist organization. The PKK called off a ceasefire they had been adhering to since 2013, and resumed attacks. The authorities have imposed curfews on parts of southeastern Turkey as part of its action against the PKK threat.
