BIST 100 index gains over 4 points from previous close
Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,537.6 points on Thursday, up 0.27% or 4.10 points from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Wednesday at 1,533.55 points, up 1.46%, with a daily trading volume of 30.1 billion Turkish liras (nearly $4.20 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.1700 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), from 7.1600 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.6200 from 8.6100, while one British pound traded for 9.7700 Turkish liras, down from 9.7800.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $58.89 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
